Road to £100million

I thought I'd start this year by reminding myself what I've been up to in the past year. I've travelled to Marrakech, Turkey and Spain. I have visited many new cities here in England. I left my job as a store manager in June to become a locum and I've really learned a lot about the accounting side of things and cash flow especially with all my heavy outgoings. I bought an audi a4 cabriolet in january which I absolutely love and have enjoyed taking it all over the country. Last but not the least, I've decided who that person is that I want to spend the rest of my life with (no proposal yet though!)

Now everyone who knows me knows that I wanna be able to leave £100million to charity. I've only been qualified a year and a half and whilst I feel I'm a competent pharmacist there's still a lot for me to learn on the business side of things. It's not just business but how money actually works and what wealth really is and how do you build it without a business. I'm currently reading "The richest man in Babylon" by George S. Clayson. Once of the lessons is "a part of all you earn is yours to keep". Everyone saves but the savings are usually to buy other things like pay for a wedding or a car or a house so end up being spent and not really yours to keep. What the author suggests is you save 10% of every penny you earn for life. Those savings should be reinvested to further multiply. We can all live off 90% of our salaries and if we really think about it some of our monthly outgoings can be reduced by getting better deals or better yet eliminated so it's not that hard.

I will need to save for wedding costs too but these savings will be spent and will not be mine to keep. Therefore this year I plan to save £5000 of wealth which I will will invest in stocks by the end of the year. I am also reading "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olsen. He says if I read 10 pages at day by the end of the year I could have read almost a dozen books to increase my knowledge. Well I've set myself a daily minimum target of 20 pages and seeing as I have around 40 books on my shelf about business, finance, personal development etc I better get started asap!

Also I would like to drop about 8kg. My weight has crept up to 95kg since locuming so I wanna get back down to my normal weight of 88kg. I'm going to blog updates on my progress.

Im going to propose to my gf this year! We plan to build a well in Africa after our honeymoon. You see all this wealth I want is so I can create a charitable foundation that deals with inequalities I feel strongly about and my excuse thus far in life has been I wanna do it bigger and better when I'm in the position. By doin this after we get married I'll at least feel like I've made a start on what's going to be an incredible journey. Im hoping to work with wateraid and if anyone has any experience with doing a similar project I'd be delighted to hear from them :-)
